I introduced this man's brother the other day - you'll remember him as the supervisor with no coal on his hands. As you can clearly see, nepotism is alive and well in Jogja; while people climb over one another for a shot at a good job, this man got into the coal shoveling business simply by being his brother's brother. That's life!
On a somewhat less cheeky note, I was given the opportunity to shovel a little coal during my visit. My hands are still black and my camera still grimy.
