Cassetes Vendor

This photo was taken on August 11, 2010 inSentoel, Yogyakarta, DIY, ID, using a Nikon D90.

Beringharjo Flea Market, Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.

With the market proper closed for the day many vendors took to the street to set up for the night market. As far as night markets go this one was a little lacking, in both size and scope. Being a slow night, however, gave me a great opportunity to meet some of the vendors and check out what they were up to.
This man here specializes in cassette tapes. He has everything you could ever hope to find; classic crooners from the former USSR. Balladeers from North Korea. Even some of the finest pop-rock Uzbekistan ever produced (in 1994).
Long live the cassette deck. If I still had a discman I would have put his kids through college.
