Brahma statue, Prambanan 850 AD
Besides the primary Shiva temple, the two other main shrines in Prambanan are that of Vishnu on the north side of the Shiva temple, and the one of Brahma on the south. Both temples face east and each contains only one large chamber. The bas-reliefs along the balustrades on the gallery around the Shiva and Brahma temples depict scenes from the Ramayana. On the balsutrades in Vishnu temple are a series of bas-reliefs depicting Krishnayana, the story of Krishna.
